Obituary

Marjorie L. Ohl of Crawfordsville, formerly of Monticello, passed away Monday morning at Bickford Memory Care in Crawfordsville.  She was 90.

Born Dec. 30, 1929 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Rayburn Theodore Darrough and Esther Ollman Darrough.  She attended school at Darlington.  She first married Noah B. McCandless and they had three children.  They later divorced.  She married William Ohl on July 1, 1983 and he passed away in 1993.

She loved country line dancing, bowling and playing euchre.  She was the office manager at Summer Haven Resort in Monticello.  She was a member of the Assembly of God, attending various churches of that denomination over the years, and former member of the Moose in Monticello and American Legion Auxiliary in Lafayette.  She was a very caring, loving person who loved her family and always put them first.

Surviving family includes: son, Tom McCandless (Deb); two daughters, Shirley Vannice (Tom) and Linda Craven, all of Crawfordsville; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; step-son, Tom Ohl (Ann); step-daughter, Kim; two step-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Barker and four brothers, Rayburn, Jr., John, Don and Jerry Darrough.

Because of the current national health crisis, her family will hold a private visitation at Burkhart Funeral Home on Thursday, March 26 th followed by a graveside service at Oak Hill Cemetery South, led by Pastor Mike Whitacre.
