Obituary

Lloyd Wendell Cope, age 97, of Crawfordsville, IN died Tuesday June 6, 2023 at Life's Journey of Avon.

Wendell was born August 30, 1925 in Ludlow, KY to John and Mary Elizabeth Abbott Cope. He attended several schools, including Ladoga, before finishing and getting his GED at South Montgomery High School. Wendell was the baby of the family being the 10th of 10 kids.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and was Honorably discharged in 1946. Wendell retired from Mid-States as a machine operator. He was a member of the Crossroads Community Church of Nazarene in Ladoga, IN and volunteered at the St. Clare Auxiliary. Wendell was a very social man, loved family gatherings, crossword puzzles and Bible study.

Lloyd Wendell Cope was proceeded in death by his parents; his wife Addie Elizabeth White, who he married on December 18, 1946 in Liberty, IN; five brothers and four sisters.

Survivors included his son Gary Cope of Indianapolis, IN; daughter Tammy (Jesse) Heier of Plainfield, IN; two granddaughters and two grandsons.

Private graveside service will be held for Lloyd Wendell Cope at Indian Creek Hill Cemetery in New Market, IN. Arrangements were entrusted with Burkhart Funeral Home, Crawfordsville.
