Obituary

Linda M. Brady passed away Friday afternoon. She was 88.

Linda was proud of her career in education and she was a strong advocate for children. She served for a time as a Montgomery County CASA proudly. She was a specialized teacher, primarily as a reading resource specialist, and also served as a school principal. She later worked as a librarian in the Children's Department for the Crawfordsville District Public Library. During her time at the CDPL, she created and facilitated various youth art classes that were appreciated by many.

Linda served her community in many ways. In addition to her work at the library, she was a long-time member of the Montgomery County Art League and had served for a time as President. She was a member of the Historical Society and helped with programs at the Carnegie Museum, Lew Wallace Study, and Rotary Jail Museum. She was an avid painter, reader, card player, and puzzler. She enjoyed traveling and had done so extensively. She had a goal to see all 50 states.

Born June 15, 1938 in Bicknell, Indiana, she was the daughter of C. C. Marsh and Elizabeth (Shackleford) Marsh. Linda earned her Bachelor's degree at Indiana University and her Master's degree in California. She married Eddie James Brady, who passed away on April 3, 1999.

Surviving family includes: son Mark Brady; two daughters, Elizabeth Davis, and Lisa (Dan) Blackford (Brady); brother, Tom (Jeri) Marsh; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a great-grandchild, James Sutton, and a son, Allen James Brady.

Public visitation will be from 11 am to 2 pm on Friday, August 14 at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 West Wabash. Private services will immediately follow for family only. Her final resting place will be at the Freedom Cemetery on State Road 234.
