Lex Leon Stonebraker, Jr., known to friends and family as JR, passed away suddenly at his home Friday, Sept. 6th.
He was born June 28, 1966 to Lex and Mary Stonebraker. The family moved to Darlington in 1970. JR was preceded in death by his father, Lex, sister, Debbie and nephew, Kyle Hole
Surviving are: his mother, Mary; four children, Nicholas Devin Stonebraker, Alicia Lorainne Haley, Jacob Shane Stonebraker and Cole Willie Edward Stonebraker; three grandchildren, Faith Johns, Aria Haley and Oliver Stonebraker; siblings, Dan Stonebraker, Cheryl Ireland, John Stonebraker and Peggy Stonebraker-Hole, along with several nieces and nephews.
After his father's passing, JR owned and operated Stoney's Bar in Crawfordsville for 15 years but had found his true calling while working with Mike Maxwell Well Drilling and began his own business, Montgomery County Well and Pump.
JR loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing and had a passion for classic cars. He loved playing cards and was extremely competitive, even with his family. JR enjoyed several years owning a spot on Sugar Mill Lake where he made several lifelong friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be from 10 AM to Noon, Saturday, September 14th at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash. Services will begin at Noon, led by Pastor Dirk Caldwell. After the service, there will be a celebration of his life at his residence.
