Katherine Elizabeth Rogers, 18, of New Market died peacefully Friday at 11:00 p.m. in her home.

Elizabeth was born January 31, 1990 in Crawfordsville to James Rogers and Mary Axsom.

Elizabeth was a 2008 graduate of Southmont High School. She graduated eighth in her class with an Academic Honors Diploma. She participated in track and cross country. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, Spanish Club, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She was a High School Rotarian her senior year.

Elizabeth was a member of New Hope Christian Church. She was active in youth group, community service projects, Vacation Bible School, and Mexico Mission Trips.

Survivors include her mother, Mary Axsom of New Market; father, James Rogers of Bismarck, IL; sister, Melissa Rogers of New Market; grandmother, Ida Sheets of Crawfordsville; and grandmother, Charlene Booe of Bismarck, IL.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Robert C. Smith and George E. Sheets.

A memorial service will be held at New Hope Christian Church, 2746 S US Hwy 231 Crawfordsville, Wednesday, August 6th at 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mexico Mission fund at New Hope Christian Church.

Elizabeth was a baptized believer and accepted Jesus Christ, the Son of God as her Savior, and she is now in heaven with a new body free of cancer.
