Judy Polk

Judith “Judy” Polk of Crawfordsville passed away Monday morning at Ben-Hur Health. She was 85.

Born Aug. 17, 1941, she was the daughter of Neville Abney and Helen Abney. She graduated from high school in Fountain County. She married Gene Polk, who preceded her in death. She worked as a babysitter, then at REMC in Attica, a factory in Rockville and cleaned offices in Crawfordsville. She then worked in the Kitchen at Ben-Hur Nursing Home for 17 years, retiring from there. Her most important role was being a mom and grandma.

Judy liked sewing and cross-stitch. She also enjoyed word searches, Gospel and country music. She was a Christian woman of the Baptist faith that prayed for her family.

Surviving family includes: two sons, Matt Osterhoudt (Jamie) of Crawfordsville and Patrick Osterhoudt of Crawfordsville; grandchildren, Maycee, Gavyn, Luy, Brayden (Christina), Zoie, Jordan and Josiah; great-grandchildren, Amelia, Declynn and Elias, as well as her sister.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and several sisters and brothers.

A celebration of life will be held on Nov. 6th from 5 to 8 PM at the Moose Lodge, 402 Waynetown Road, Crawfordsville. Cremation arrangements were made through Burkhart Funeral Home.
