Joseph D. Melton, Sr. passed away Thursday morning at home.  He was 66. Born July 5, 1958 he was the son of Walter and Dorothy Melton.  He was an auto mechanic and had worked on a farm.  Those jobs were also his favorite activities, working on cars and farming.

He is survived by a son, Joseph Melton, Jr.; daughter, Cindy Cary; brothers, David, Donny, Wayne, Herschel, Junior and Michael and sister, Thelma.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca; brother, Richard and sister, Suanne.

No services are planned at this time. Cremation arrangements were assisted by Burkhart Funeral Home.
