Joseph Daniel Crane, 45, of Crawfordsville, Indiana, passed away on December 13, 2023. He was born on March 11, 1978, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, to Robert Crane and Jane Newhouse.

Known to his friends and family as Joe, he was a warm and funny guy. He had a passion for cooking and was a great chef. In his free time, he enjoyed playing video games and was an avid gamer. Joe had a special love for Christmas and cherished spending time with his family. He held his grade school friends, Amy Hubbard and Lindsey VanDevander, close to his heart. His two adopted dogs, Fitzy and Howard, were his best friends and constant companions. Joe's presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Joe is survived by his father, Robert Crane (IN), and his mother, Jane Newhouse (MN). He is also survived by his aunt, Alice Bassford (MN), and his aunt, Charlene Crane Meadows (IN). Joe's brothers, J. Mark Hannon (IN) and Jonathan Kyser (FL), and his sisters, Sara Kyser (IN), J. Christin Hannon (IN), and Jill Hannon Brennamen (FL), will forever cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Warren and Clarice Crane, and his maternal grandparents, Gifford and Helen Spilly.

A memorial service is not planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to the IndyHumane Society in Indianapolis, Indiana, in Joe's memory.
