Obituary

John P. Weesner, 72, of Darlington passed away Thursday morning at Franciscan Health –Crawfordsville.

Mr. Weesner retired from the VA Administration building in Indianapolis, where he was a clerical worker who was never late and never missed a day in 41 years.  He was a member of Gateway Apostolic, now known as Hope Chapel.  He liked Bible study and researched world history during the Biblical age.  He was dependable, honest and obedient to God's word.  He also enjoyed birdwatching and had several birdfeeders.

Born Jan 10, 1949 in Darlington, he was the son of Erving B. Weesner and Alice McClaskey Weesner.  He graduated from the Indiana School for the Deaf.

Surviving family includes: brother, Robert E. Weesner (wife, Laine) of Independence, Kentucky; one nephew, Marshall Weesner of Cincinnati, Ohio; one niece, Lerin Middendorf of Independence, Kentucky, along with close friend, Pastor Everett Davenport.

Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM Saturday, Oct. 23rd at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash Avenue, Crawfordsville. Services will begin at 1 PM, led by Pastor Everett Davenport.  Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Darlington.

Donations in memory of John Weesner may be made to the Indiana School for the Deaf, 1200 East 42 nd Street, Indianapolis, IN 46205.
