John Andrew Callis passed from his Earthly home to his Heavenly home on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020.

John was born to Robert Callis and L. Maxine Harmless Callis on Dec. 21, 1939 at Bridgeton, Indiana.  He graduated in 1958 from Bridgeton High School.  He married Kay Thompson Callis on Sept. 14, 1968 at Woodland Heights Christian Church.

He retired from Wabash National in Lafayette, Indiana in 2001.  He enjoyed motorcycle riding, fishing and travelling.  He was a member of New Hope Christian Church, where he served as a past Elder and a member of the Pastoral team.

He is survived by: his wife, Kay; daughter, Raina (Jason) Gates; son Steve, by a previous marriage; grandchildren, Brittany Lohorn-Weaver, Brody (Brittany) Lohorn, Garrett (Brittany) Gates, Gavin Gates, Steven Smith; great-granddaughters, Kamryn and Loirn Beard, Leiah and Maci Lohorn; step-grandson, Kaydenn Weaver; cousins, Beverly, Doug and Joe Hawkins of Rockville.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Lohorn-Bradshaw, parents and grandparents.

Due to high COVID-19 risks, private family graveside services will be held at Indian Creek Hill Cemetery.
