Joe Cler, age 88, passed away on September 26, 2023 at Ben Hur Nursing Home. Born on July 22, 1935 in Tuscola, Illinois to Roman and Frances Kleiss Cler. Joe was a Crawfordsville High School graduate then went on to work at R.R. Donnelley before his retirement. He enjoyed rebuilding player pianos, was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Moose and Eagles.

Joe married Doris Knowling on February 27, 1954, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Crawfordsville, Indiana. She passed away April 7, 2019

Surviving family include, daughters Celena Melson of Indianapolis, IN and Crystal (David) McKenna of Rosharon, TX; son Dan (Carla) Cler of Crawfordsville, IN; grandchildren, Stephanie (Jake) Hovermale, Chris Moore, Kaylee Cler, Michael McKenna, and Emily (Tucker) Knode; great-grandchildren, Cooper Hovermale, Reagan Hovermale, Grayson Moore, Huxley Moore, Bristol Cler-Devitt, and Uriah Joseph; siblings Don Cler, Norma Glazik, and Nancy "Judy" Suiter; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; several brothers and sisters.

A celebration of life will be October 7th from 4 - 7 at the Crawfordsville Moose Lodge, 402 Waynetown Rd, Crawfordsville, IN 47933. A private family burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery North, Crawfordsville, IN.
