Joan Kay Smith, 85, of Crawfordsville, IN, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the home of her granddaughter Emily in Evansville, IN. Joan was a homemaker, a former employee of RR Donnelleys and South Central Telephone in Glasgow, KY, and most importantly a servant of God.
She was born on May 15, 1940 in Crawfordsville, IN, the daughter of Ralph and Mildred Myers of Wallace, IN, who preceded her in death. She married Carl Smith who also preceded her in death, as well as a son Kevin Smith, two sisters Jeannine Babich of Port Charlotte, FL and Janet Rice of Crawfordsville and a brother, Roger Myers of Wallace, IN.
Joan is survived by her son Brent Smith of Crawfordsville and sister Jackie (Bob) Tridle of Port Charlotte, FL, three granddaughters, Brandy Vannice of Lebanon, Emily Foust and Lauren Hodge of Evansville, nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins.
Joan enjoyed traveling, gardening, spending time with family and friends and making them laugh. She was truly an angel who visited earth and returned to her heavenly father. Her famous phrase was "It's just my opinion."

Graveside services only at Phanuel Lutheran Church in Wallace, IN on Friday, October, 24 at 11 am. Memorials to American Cancer Society or St. Jude's.
