Jessie Dougherty of West Lafayette, formerly of Crawfordsville, passed away Thursday afternoon at Franciscan Health of Lafayette.  She was 76.

Jessie liked to cook, crochet, and sew.  She was very artistic when she was younger and would paint and do crafts. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.  She worked as a crossing guard and then later spent many years as a cook at Williamsburg Nursing Home.

Born Feb. 21, 1945 in Plainfield, she was the daughter of Willard Willsey and Isabelle "Suzy" Willsey.  She married Wendell Joseph "Joe" Dougherty on Nov. 19, 1966.  He passed away Nov. 9, 2001

Surviving family include: daughter Cinnamon Gallatin (Rich) of Tallahassee, Florida; grandson, Sawyer Gallatin; a brother and a sister.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother.

Graveside services will be at 3 PM Monday, Aug 23 at Oak Hill Cemetery North in Crawfordsville, led by Pastor Chris Hortin.  Arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart Funeral Home.
