Jerald Hutchens

July 28, 1936 to July 5, 2026

Jerald "Jerry" Hutchens passed away at Woodlawn Hospital in Rochester, Indiana on July 5, 2026. He was 89.

Born in Indianapolis, Indiana on July 28, 1936 to Wilbur and Dorothy LaFollette Hutchens. He lived most of his life in Crawfordsville before moving in with niece a few years ago. Jerry graduated from Darlington High School in 1954 and went on to get his Associate degree at Ivy Tech. He worked at RR Donnelley's, Gander Mountain and the Sunshine Van. He served 9 years in the Army National Guard in the 139th Field Artillery. On October 18, 1956 Jerry married Alberta Fay Casey, she passed on April 3.,1992.

Jerry was a lifetime member of the National Cur and Feist Breeders Association and the Hunters Safety Education Association.

Surviving family includes: daughter, Susan Hutchens Ford; son, Steven Hutchens; niece, Cristina Casey; and nephew, Scott Casey

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, wife; and two infant daughters.

Graveside service will be on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at 4 PM at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Darlington.
