Obituary

Jeffrey Alan McClaskey stepped into the arms of our loving Lord on Monday April 20, 2020. He was born November 21, 1968 in Crawfordsville, IN, to Dave and Cheryl McClaskey. After graduating from Southmont High School in 1987, he attended Marian College, where he played college basketball for the Marian Knights.

He married Kerrie Hess McClaskey on November 26, 1994. Kerrie and their three daughters, Lauren, Caroline, and Grace McClaskey survive. He is also survived by parents, Dave and Cheryl (Bronaugh) McClaskey; brother, Eric McClaskey (Julie); nieces, Jett, Peri; nephew, Seth.  From his wife's side of the family he is survived by: father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ron and Francie Hess; brother-in-law, Chad Hess (Julie) and niece, Avery, nephews, Cale and Hayden; sister-in-law, Holli Vencel (Jason) with three nephews, Ethan, Isaac and Lucas. He is preceded in death by his grandparents.

Jeff was the owner of L.C. & G. Lawn Maintenance.  Jeff converted to Catholicism in 1996 and became an active member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church. Jeff lived his life with God, faith, and family at the forefront of everything he did. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Crawfordsville Country Club, and was a past president and board member with 4-H, Inc.

Jeff was known to be a fun-loving, compassionate, generous, hard-working, dedicated, and loving father and husband. Jeff was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching and coaching many in basketball, and when permitted, playing a little… A LOT of golf with his friends. Above all else, he loved nothing more than watching and coaching his three girls in their sports. In addition to his love for sports, he was passionate about Montgomery Country 4-H. Jeff was a ten-year 4-H member himself, and from the time his girls were born, he spent countless hours with them on his family farm and showing their pigs. Jeff touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He was a jokester, and he always showed up to lend a helping hand. His wife and daughters will forever be grateful for his unconditional love and unwavering support. Remember that God is with you. "For you are with me" (Psalm 23:4). God not only promises His power, He promises His presence. We will never go through a dark day alone.
