Janticelee Marie Burks

Jantice Burks, age 88, passed away at her daughter's house surrounded by her family on May 2, 2026.

Born in Kansas City, Missouri to Ivan and Nellie Magnuson on October 10, 1937. On July 21, 1956, Jantice married the love of her life Billie Burks, who preceded her in death on April 26, 2004.

Jantice worked as a dispatcher for INDOT for many years. She also was once the owner of Silver Shanty, a restaurant downtown Crawfordsville. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Auxiliary and St. Bernard Catholic Church. She loved taking cruises, playing slot machines, playing bingo and most importantly the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving family includes, daughters, Frances (Bob) Alexander, Dede (Jeff) Cope, Tina (Jerry) Misner, Tammy (Jay) Hunter, and Stephanie (Rick) Scott; 13 grandkids; 20 great grandkids; and 3 great-great grandkids

Jantice was preceded in death by her husband Billie; parents; and siblings, Vivan Moore, Joseph Magnuson, James Magnuson and Sharon Long.

Funeral Mass will be at 12PM on Friday, May 8, 2026 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
