Janet Marie Rowe

Janet Marie Rowe of Crawfordsville passed away with her family around her on Wednesday morning at the age of 83.

Born March 4, 1941 in Wolcott, Indiana, she was the daughter of Harry Emond and Antionette Emond.  She graduated from Wolcott High School.  She married Raymond E. Rowe on Nov. 12, 1960.  After 52 years of marriage he preceded her in death on June 30, 2012.

Janet loved her children and grandchildren.  She was a professional baker and cake decorator.  She enjoyed travelling and exploring exotic foods.  For over 20 years, she worked at the AVX Corporation in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  She was a member of New Life Church in Crawfordsville.

Surviving family includes: four children, Jeff Rowe, Dana Rowe, Mark (Kim) Rowe and Patrick (Andrea) Rowe; seven grandchildren, Alexis (Nick), Kenny, Andrew (Emily), Bridget, Gavin (Katie), Kyle (Shelby) and Bradley (Sara); great-grandchildren, Elanor, Harper, Emry, Max, Shelby Ruth, Landon, Bo and Mavrick.  She loved her family deeply and spent a lot of time with family as well as many close friends, which include Marlene Dion, Pam Crull, Brenda and Bill Cashmon and Earl Alger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers, Donald, Marvin and Eldon "Stoker" Emond.

Visitation will be from 10 AM to Noon on Saturday, Oct. 5th at Burkhart Funeral Home, Crawfordsville. Services will begin at Noon, led by Pastor Mark Phipps.  Burial will take place at 2:30 PM at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Remington, Indiana.
