Jack Lee Kendall of Crawfordsville passed away Wednesday morning at the age of 71.

Jack did many things over the years, but was always a farmer, which for many years he did with his dad.  He also did carpentry, was a mechanic and worked at Fairfield in Lafayette. His most recent job was maintenance at a Purdue Dormitory.  He loved working on John Deere tractors.  He was most proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Born Dec, 12, 1952 in Lafayette, he was the son of John Kendall and Elizabeth Kendall.  He graduated from Harrison High School, class of 1972.  On June 8, 1974 he married Omey England and they recently celebrated 50 years together.

Surviving family includes: wife, Omey Kendall; four daughters, Wendy (Glen) Carter, Christina Lear, Carey (Kenny) Cox and Bobby (Mikel) Manion; two sisters, Jane Turpin and Pat Reed; step-sister, Ely Arenas; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his step-mother, Ernestine Kendall.

Visitation will be from 1 PM to 3 PM on Saturday, August 24th at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 West Wabash.  Services will begin at 3 PM, led by Pastor Mary Harvey-Hartman.
