Imogene Stevens

Imogene Stevens, formerly of Crawfordsville, passed away Wednesday, July 23rd at St. Mary's Healthcare in Lafayette, where she resided the past four years.

Mrs. Stevens worked at General Foods for 18 years, retiring from there.  She was a homemaker that took care of her family.

Born Dec. 5, 1933 in Jabez, Kentucky, she was the daughter of I. Wolford Polston and Stella Anderson Polston.  She attended school in Jabez.  She married Oliver H. "Ollie" Stevens on July 7, 1950 in Russell Springs, Kentucky.  He passed away May 4, 2020.

Surviving family includes: two sons, Allen Dale Stevens (Mary) and Daniel Lee Stevens (Patricia), both of Lafayette; sister, Marie Wiggington of Somerset, Kentucky; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Arnold Polston and Vinous Polston, and three sisters, Aline Miller, Karen Carrell and Nettie Ellen Stevenson.

Visitation will be from 10 AM to 11 AM on Tuesday, July 29th at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 West Wabash, Crawfordsville.  Services will begin at 11 AM.  After the service, she will be laid to rest beside Ollie at Oak Hill Cemetery South.
