Grant McBee

June 21, 1957-Sept. 26, 2024

Grant Thomas McBee, 67, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 26, 2024 at IU Arnett in Lafayette.

He was born June 21, 1957 at Crawfordsville to the late Marvin "Andy" McBee and Barbara Allen McBee.

Grant graduated from North Montgomery HS in 1975, where he excelled in both wrestling and football.  He graduated from Purdue in 1980.

He was raised on the family farm east of Linden and continued farming all his life.  He was a friendly guy and enjoyed talking with people from all walks of life.  He spoke fluent Spanish and enjoyed many trips to Mexico over the years.  He enjoyed scuba diving in his younger years and met his wife, Miriam, on one of his trips to Mexico.  He was the proud owner of a 1972 Barracuda that he took to many car shows over the years.

Grant was a beloved son, father, grandfather and brother who will be missed by all.  Survivors include: his mother, Barbara McBee; wife, Miriam; daughter, Stephanie McBee (Jorge Hernandez); grandsons, Noah and Lucas; brother, Steve McBee (Elizabeth); nephew, Isaac.  He is also survived by step-daughter, Jhoanna West (Jalen) and grandsons, Jake and Jayce.  In addition to his family, he leaves behind his much-loved dog, Samantha, who was his shadow for many years.  He was always a dog lover.  He is also survived by many cousins.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 PM Monday, Sept. 30 at North Cornerstone Church in Linden.  Services will begin at 3 PM.  After the service, he will be laid to rest at the Linden Cemetery.
