Gary Lepper

June 9, 1955-Oct. 8, 2024

Gary Dean Lepper of rural Crawfordsville passed away Tuesday afternoon following a 6 year battle with cancer.  He was 69.

Gary worked at Acuity Brands Lighting for 20 years and later retired from maintenance with the Montgomery County Jail.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, his tractor and going to the woods.  He loved going to the beach with his wife and friends, especially to their special place, St. George Island, Florida.  He enjoyed watching the deer and turkeys in the yard around the pond.

Born June 9, 1955 in Crawfordsville, he was the son of Raymond Lepper and Barbara (Shull) Lepper.  He married Rhonda (Reese) Maseman on July 10, 2011.  She survives.

Gary is survived by: wife, Rhonda Lepper; brother, Ed Lepper (Melissa Jones); sister, Debra Keller; nephew Brad Keller (Jia Ye); mother-in-law, Kay Reese; sister-in-law, Kelly VanRaden (Roger); two brothers-in-law, Phil Reese and Joe Reese (Joanna); thirteen nieces and nephews, ten great-nieces and great-nephews; three cousins, Cheryl McIntire (Mitch), Jeff Dulin (Ella) and Marc Dulin (Debra).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Lepper and Barbara Austin, step-father, Bud Austin and aunt, Mae Rice (Lee).

Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM Saturday at Burkhart Funeral Home.  A memorial service will begin at 1 PM, led by Pastor Todd Randles.  Special thanks to family and close friends for all the love and support for Gary and Rhonda, with a very special thank you to Franciscan Hospice and Nurse Lou.
