Obituary

Elaine Greenlee, 79, of Crawfordsville passed away Thursday afternoon in her daughter's home.

Ms. Greenlee worked several places: she was a first grade teacher at Mt. Zion; worked at the Crawfordsville Public Library; was a research assistant to Dr. Jim Barnes at Wabash College; administrative assistant to the Union Township Trustee; social services director at Hickory Creek and Williamsburg Nursing Homes; and teaching aide for children whose parents studied for their GED.

She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, where she showed her great sense of humor, joking with her children.  She was a dedicated pianist for over 35 years, most recently at Smartsburg Christian Church, where she was a member.  She was dedicated to her faith and the power of prayer.  She read mysteries, spy thrillers, and if she wasn't home, she was at the Library.

Born October 28, 1940 in Boonville, Indiana, she was the daughter of Basil Redmon and Dea Dawson Redmon.  She graduated from Boonville High School in 1959.  She earned a Bachelor of Science at Oakland City College and Master's degree in English from Depauw University.
