Edward Eichstedt, Jr. of Crawfordsville passed away Tuesday morning at Hickory Creek.  He was 83.

Born Aug. 3, 1939 in Sheffield, Massachusetts, he was the son of Edward Eichstedt, Sr. and Margaret Eichstedt.  After graduating high school, he enlisted in the Navy and spent 20 years as an air traffic controller.  After his service, he spent another 20 years working air traffic control in the public.

Surviving family includes: wife, Valli Eichstedt of Crawfordsville; daughter, Jennifer Eichstedt of California; son, Jeff Eichstedt of Washington.

No public services are planned.  Cremation arrangements were made through Burkhart Funeral Home.
