Donald Lee Livingston, 83, of Crawfordsville passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones.

Don was born in Hillsboro to William and Pearl Livingston on January 19, 1941, and grew up on the family farm near Waynetown.  Upon graduation from Waynetown High School in 1959 he attended Purdue University, graduating in 1963.  He joined Farm House Fraternity while at Purdue, where he made many life-long friends.  He also was active in the Ag related activities and ROTC.

After graduation, he fulfilled his military obligation in the Army, stationed in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he met Mary Jane Fowler.  They were married on Feb. 13, 1966 in Colorado Springs.  They returned to Indiana and lived on their farm east of Waynetown.  Don, fulfilling his life-long love of animals, raised hogs, cattle, and horses, as well as crop farming corn and soybeans.  He was known for his innovative vision, ability to fabricate and repair anything and could work circles around anyone.  His motto was "If ya rest ya rust."  Often his tractor time would result in plans and dreams that he would see through to completion.

Retiring around 1994, he and wife Jane opened a small shop, Curly Willow Farms and Don spent several years refurbishing antique furniture and creating in wood. During this time, Don and Jane spent a lot of time in their motorhome, travelling around the U.S. and Canada. They spent many summers camping at Turkey Run State Park with their four grandchildren, all whom he loved.  Over the years, Don served on various boards and civic committees including NMHS School Board, MCCF Director, Montgomery County Co-Op and various boards at Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church.  He loved singing in the church choir for many years.

Don is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jane Livingston; son, Scott Livingston; daughter, Lori (Tim) Guard; sister, Donna (Lowell) Stockdale of Hillsboro; four grandchildren, Jennifer (fiancé Javan Barton) Guard, Allison Guard, Tyler Livingston, and Carter Livingston.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM Friday at Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church.  Services will begin at 1:30 with Pastor Keith Strain officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery North.
