Donald Allen Dale of Darlington passed away March 13th at home. He was 84.
Born April 12, 1939 at Crawfordsville, he was the son of the late Albert and Agnes (Loudermill) Dale. He married Mary Birge who preceded him in death in 2012. He later married Glenda Dale. She survives.
Donald graduated from Darlington High School in 1957 and served in the United States Army 4th Division as a Corps Engineer in Germany. He was employed at R. R. Donnelley for 46 years.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Memberships included the Darlington United Methodist Church, was a 50-year member and Past Commander of the Darlington American Legion Post 302, Sugar Creek Bass Anglers Club, and the New Ross 'Coon Hunters Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Jeff (Becky) Dale of North Carolina and Jerry (Christina) Dale of Ladoga; grandchildren Nathan, Caleb, Casey, Nick (Pickle), Nate, Alyssa and Kyler; great grandchildren Jace, Kinsley and Everleigh and step-son Richard Milton.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, brothers Richard Dale and David Dale and beloved dog Behr.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 4:00 PM Monday, March 18th at the Darlington United Methodist Church. A funeral service will immediately follow at 4:00 PM with Pastor Brian Holt officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
