Donald P. Carpenter

Donald P. Carpenter of Crawfordsville passed away Tuesday morning.  He was 74.

Don was a buyer for Thrifty Supply and later became manager.  He also worked as a buyer for Pace Dairy when it opened and later worked maintenance and as a supervisor.  He also worked as a buyer for Dari-Licious.  He enjoyed woodworking, reading and liked to tinker and fix things.  He attended First United Methodist Church.

Born April 6, 1947 near Colfax, he was the son of Ralph Carpenter and Nelda Carpenter.  He graduated from Darlington High School in 1965.  On July 2, 1967 he married Janet Lusman.  She survives.

Surviving family includes: wife, Janet Carpenter; son, Chris Carpenter (Debbie); grandson, Daniel Carpenter; five brothers, Jack Carpenter, Bill Carpenter (Nancy), Harold Carpenter (Linda), Jim Carpenter (Barb) and Kenneth Carpenter (Terri).

Memorial visitation will be held Friday, August 27 ^th at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash Avenue, from 2 to 4 PM with a memorial service starting at 4 PM.
