Obituary

Delores (Dee) Jean Paddack, 87, of Crawfordsville, IN, passed away peacefully at Brownsburg Meadows on November 29, 2025, after a 15-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. Dee was also a breast cancer survivor.

She was born in Crawfordsville on March 20, 1938, to Mary Ellen Norris and Lawrence Guinn. She attended Linden High School, graduating with the class of 1956. Dee shared earlier chapters of her life with William (Bill) McCormick and Steve Corbin. In later years, she married Gordon Paddack, who preceded her in death.

Dee was the proud mother of two children, five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Her greatest joy was her family.

She first worked at RR Donnelley until her children were born. She later worked at Sommer Metalcraft before beginning her career in public service, serving first as the County Assessor and then as the County Recorder. Dee eventually retired to Naples, Florida, returning to Crawfordsville in 2013.

Dee was an avid bowler and loved being able to say she bowled with the same team for over 35 years. Dee loved to entertain and often was the host to family and friends. She enjoyed participating in games of any kind — and if you were lucky, you went home with a dollar! She was also a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she held several offices, and a longtime member of First Baptist Church before moving to Florida.

Dee is survived by her two sons, Dale (Diana) and Ron (Angie Abney) McCormick; five grandchildren: JT (Kari) Moore, Cori (Jeremy) Crossley, Jacob Moore (Zoe Hines), Cam (Courtney) McCormick, and Cassi (Jacob) Telesz; and eight great-grandchildren: Kohen and Hudson Moore; Easton, Isabella, and Arabella Crossley; Ruby Caroline McCormick; and Jordon Elyse Telesz. Also surviving are two siblings, Linda (Whitey) Reath and Phil (Caroline) Guinn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Shirley and Joe Guinn; and daughter-in-law Marsha McCormick and step-son Joseph Corbin.

Memorial services will be held at Burkhart Funeral Home in Crawfordsville, IN, on December 5, 2025, from 3–5 p.m.  At the end of the viewing, there will be a time for anyone who wishes to share memories. Dale and Ron McCormick welcome all who would like to speak  Private burial will take place at a later date.
