Obituary

Della Mae Gilliatt, 86, of Darlington, entered into Heaven's Kingdom June 23, 2020.

Born Dec. 15, 1933 in Kidder, Kentucky to Claudie and Nettie Mae Keith, she leaves behind a legacy of steadfast faith, the power of prayer and the importance of family.  She worked at the Tollbridge Grocery Store for several years.  Before retiring, she worked 10 years as an assistant cook for Sigma Chi Fraternity House at Wabash College.

Della Mae is survived by: daughter, Tammy (Steve) VanCleave; two sons, Scott (Ranufa) Gilliatt and Randy Young; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson; sister, Eva Muse.

She was preceded in death by: husband, Alva Gilliatt; parents, Claudie and Nettie Keith; sisters, Evelyn Dunagan, Beulah "Edna" Black, Gladys Becht, Margie Dobbs; brothers, Golman Keith, Romer Keith, Hobert Keith, Curtis Keith, Louid Keith; two life-long friends, Geneva West and Diana Dagley.

Upon leaving this Earthly home and entering the Promised Land, take comfort in knowing she was greeted with "Well done.  Well done my good and faithful one.  You have run the race and now you're home.  Welcome to the place where you belong.  Well done!.."

Visitation for Della Mae Gilliatt, at Burkhart Funeral Home in Crawfordsville, will begin at 1 PM Friday June 26 th and continue until the service begins at 2 PM.  After the service she will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery in Darlington.
