Daniel E. Burns

Daniel E. Burns of Crawfordsville passed away Sunday afternoon at Franciscan Health of Greenwood.  He was 71.

Dan worked at Inland Container for 25 years, then Marcus Cable for 10 years and lastly with CEL&P for over 20 years.  He liked playing softball and volleyball.  He loved playing cards, especially euchre.  He enjoyed lots of movies and TV shows.  Most of all, he loved his family and especially enjoyed family vacations at Siesta Key where they could all be together.

Born Nov. 24, 1953 in Crawfordsville, he was the son of Cameron V. Burns and Marjorie A. Edwards Burns.  He graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1973.  On August 18, 1973 he married Charlene Cook.  She survives.

Surviving family includes: wife, Charlene Burns of Crawfordsville; daughter, Tiffany Rogde (Terry) of Oregon; two brothers, Tom Burns (Jane), Jack Burns (Paula), both of Florida; grandson, Mitchel Reeves; granddaughter, Josie Brooks (Dane); great-grandson, Heath Lawrence Brooks.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Daniel Heath Burns.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 PM Friday at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 West Wabash Avenue.  A service will be held at 6 PM with a eulogy by family friend Jackie Brown.
