Clarence Snyder of Crawfordsville, 73, passed away Suddenly on Saturday, October 25th, in his home.

Clarence was born December 24, 1951, in Crawfordsville. He is the son of Dwight and Jeanette Simpson Snyder. They preceded him in death. He is survived by sister, Cindy Snyder, of Hillsboro.

Clarence is also survived by his wife of 49 years, Dinah Seymour Snyder, and his family. His children are Neil Snyder of Crawfordsville, Grant (Jamie) Snyder of Linden, Megan (Bobby) Snyder Clark of Lebanon, and Drew (Stephanie) Snyder of Ashland, Missouri. His grandchildren are Broderick Snyder of Mooresville, Britney (Dylan) Snyder Nolf of Crawfordsville, Taytum Snyder, Millie Snyder, Flynn Snyder, and Georgia Snyder of Linden, and Liam Clark and Finnegan Clark of Lebanon.

Clarence graduated from Fountain Central High School in 1969. He graduated from Purdue University in 1973 with a degree in math. He taught school for two years, then worked for the Indiana State Highway Testing lab. He then worked at Eli Lilly in Lafayette in the analytical lab; he was a supervisor there when he retired.

Clarence was a huge fan of Purdue football and basketball, and of the Cincinnati Reds baseball team. His knowledge of the players, statistics and facts was extensive.

Clarence was a Christian, and his faith in Jesus Christ was very important to him. He was a founding member of The Vine Christian Church. He is happy with the Lord in heaven now. But he will be sorely missed by the family he left behind.

Clarence will be remembered in a private graveside service for his immediate family only. His son, Drew, who is a minister, will lead the service for his dad. Arrangements are entrusted with Burkhart Funeral Home; burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
