Cecil D. Nusbaumer, 91, of Crawfordsville passed away Thursday morning at Hickory Creek Nursing Home.

Mr. Nusbaumer loved the outdoors and going camping.  He was a truck driver for many years with ABF Trucking and during retirement he helped the Indiana Department of Revenue during tax season.  He attended Grace and Mercy Ministries.

Born July 1, 1931 in Brookville, Indiana, he was the son of Otto C. Nusbaumer and Helen Swanson Nusbaumer.  He graduated from Brookville High School.  He married Carol Ann Thomas Nusbaumer in 1959 and she passed away in 2016.

Surviving family includes: two sons, George (Mary) Welch and Dale (Brenda) Whitt; three daughters, Terry (John) Stanley, Stacy (Don) Butram, and Cindy Nusbaumer; three brothers, Danny (Gladys) Nusbaumer, Lowell (Ginger) Nusbaumer and Richard (Cheryl) Doll; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters, Marcella Barr and Lois Troutt, brother, Larry Nusbaumer and two infant brothers, Robert and Duane.

Visitation will be from Noon to 2 PM Monday, Sept. 12 at Burkhart Funeral Home.  Services will begin at 2 PM, led by Pastor Nathan Miller.  After the service, he will be laid to rest at Indian Creek Hill Cemetery on State Road 47 South.
