Carolyn Laube of Crawfordsville passed away Sunday morning at home.  She was 81.

Mrs. Laube was an avid reader that had an extensive book collection.  She liked camping, fishing, embroidery and coloring.  Carolyn also participated in the Wednesday night bowling league.  She was a member of Youngs Chapel Christian Church.  She worked for several years at Culver Hospital, first at the switchboard and later in data processing.

Born March 29, 1943 in Michigan, she was the daughter of Ralph Stewart and Louise Mosbey Stewart Brooks.  She graduated from Veedersburg High School.  She married James Laube on July 20, 1962.  He survives.

Surviving family includes: husband, James "Jim" Laube of Crawfordsville; four sons, Scott (Gloria) Laube, Mark (Teresa) Laube, Todd (Janel) Laube, and Kevin (Cynthia) Laube; six grandchildren, Cody, Brian, Luke, Aubrey, Alayna and Rebecca; one great-grandson, Carson; two brothers, Jeff Brooks and Phil Brooks.

She was preceded in death by a son, Stewart Laube in 2001, a sister, Leslie and a daughter-in-law, Mary.

Visitation will be from Noon to 2 PM Thursday, May 2nd at Burkhart Funeral Home.  Services will begin at 2 PM, led by Pastor Gary Edwards.  Entombment will follow at the Oak Hill Mausoleum.
