Carol Jean Walters of Crawfordsville passed away Tuesday at Franciscan Health Lafayette East.  She was 65.

Born August 2, 1955 at Danville, Illinois, Carol was the daughter of Everett and Dorothy Zeigler Walters.  She graduated from Fountain Central High School and was a member of Woodland Heights Christian Church.  She held various jobs but may be most remembered working as bartender at the Veedersburg Tavern.

She enjoyed having people around her and could often be heard whistling a tune.  Her nieces and nephews were very special to her and she enjoyed entertaining and telling stories to them.  Rarely one to say goodbye, she would simply say "See you later!"

Surviving family members include her sister Carol Remele, brother, Jerry (Sheila) Walters, sister, Linda Walters, eight nieces and nephews, as well as sister-in-law, Sharon Walters.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Michael and Everett, Jr.

A private funeral service will be held at Woodland Heights Christian Church with Pastor Steve Wilke officiating.  A public graveside service will be 3:00 PM Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington.
