Boyd Eugene Cope

Aug. 16, 1937 – Sept. 27, 2026

Boyd Cope of Crawfordsville went peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 27, 2026, surrounded by family. He was 89.

Born August 16, 1937 in Noblesville, Indiana, he was the son of Clarence and Loretta Cope. He married Sandra Pearson on Nov. 8, 1957. She survives.

Boyd served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1963. He then went to work in sales and retail. He graduated from Northern Arizona University and retired from North Montgomery High School with 32 years in education.

A member of Woodland Heights Christian Church, Boyd serves as an Elder and Sunday School teacher. He was also an active participant in the men’s group.

Surviving with his wife, Sandra, are daughters, Lisa (Danny) Fisher, Kristi (Jason Thomasson) DeBaun; grandchildren, Nick Fisher (Brianna), Katie Fisher (Carter), Sydney Cope (Brenden), Hunter DeBaun; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Richard, grandson, Daniel, sister-in-law, Pat, brother-in-law, Richard and nephew, Mike.

Celebration of Life will be at Woodland Heights Christian Church on Monday, Oct. 5, 2026. Visitation will be from 4 PM until 5 PM. Service with military rites will begin at 5 PM. Interment will be in Fort Ord, California.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Woodland Heights Men’s Group (B.A.G.) or the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County.
