Beverly Reed of rural Crawfordsville passed away Friday afternoon at the Parkwood Health Center in Lebanon at the age of 89.

Mrs. Reed was a homemaker, taking care of her children when they were young, then went to work at Milligan's as a floral assistant.  She enjoyed gardening, feeding her family as well as fellowship with neighbors and friends.  She liked playing cards, especially euchre.  She loved attending ballgames and being with her family.  She was a member of the Youngs Chapel Christian Church and was recently attending the CrossWay Covenant Church in New Market.

Born June 2, 1934 in Columbus, Ohio, she was the daughter of James Samuel Johnson and Ellen Marie Johnson.  She attended school in Ohio.  She married William G. "Bill" Reed on March 1, 1953.  He passed away Aug. 28, 2021.

Surviving family includes: two daughters, Kathy Lidester and Karen Davis (Rob); two sons, Ron Reed and Rick Reed (Cheryl); ten grandchildren, Jennifer, Tyler, Ashlea, Kamie, Rob, Toby, Marcie, Zachary, Payton and Sienna; seven great-grandchildren and one brother, James Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, David Johnson and Robert Johnson, as well as son-in-law, Stephen Lidester.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM Thursday at Burkhart Funeral Home.  Services will be held at 10 AM Friday at the funeral home, led by Pastor Bill Pike.  After the service, she will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery North.
