Betty Sheets of Crawfordsville passed away Thursday night at Franciscan Health at the age of 81.

Betty was an active member of the community.  She volunteered at the Lew Wallace study, was a member of St. John's Episcopal and the Art League.  She also owned a craft store downtown.  Most of all, she was a wife and mother that cared for and looked after her family.

Born June 3, 1942 in Frankfort, Indiana, she was the daughter of Estill Rule and Frances Rule.  She graduated from Frankfort High School.  She married Thomas "Tom" Sheets on Nov. 25, 1961 in Frankfort.  He passed away June 7, 2022.

Surviving family includes: four sons, David Sheets of Crawfordsville, Brent Sheets of Crawfordsville, Michael Sheets of Massachusetts, Kevin Sheets of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Michaela, Drew, Jared and Craig; brother, Dave Rule (Jane) of Peoria, Illinois; sister, Judy Ayres of Hendersonville, Tennessee; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tom Sheets, daughter-in-law, Michelle Fry Sheets and brother-in-law, John Ayres.

Memorial services will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, 212 S. Green Street, Crawfordsville at 4 PM Saturday, April 6th with Father Christian Baron officiating.  Inurnment will follow in the St. John's Columbarium.
