Barbara (Bobbie) Jean Wilson, age 87, of Crawfordsville passed away surrounded by her family on September 20, 2024.
Born August 7, 1937 in Canton, Ohio to Robert and Virginia Page Brown. Bobbie graduated Dover High School in Dover Ohio in 1956 and then went on to Western Union School here in Crawfordsville and worked for Western Union sending Telegrams. Bobbie and her late husband were known throughout the community for their merchant police business where they routinely made sure the businesses in the community were secure each day after hours. Bobbie also spent many years as a crossing guard for Hoover Elementary School and she cherished each day she spent with the children ensuring their safety as they crossed the street. She was a member of the local Moose Lodge #006. Bobbie also played in a local bowling league for many years, some of her favorite hobbies were playing bingo and going to casinos and watching reruns of classic television shows.
Bobbie married Juan K. I. Wilson on June 15, 1957 in Dover, Ohio, he preceded her in death on May 8, 2019
Surviving family includes; son, Johnny (Shelly) Wilson; daughter, Heidi Hon; grandson; Steven Wilson; and sister, Karen Stuller. Bobbie's wishes are to be cremated and a celebration of life is planned for October 13, 2024 at the Tannenbaum Cultural Center from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. All are invited to remember and celebrate Bobbies lifelong demonstration of unconditional love and kindness which she shared with both her family and the community of Crawfordsville.
