Carmel “Tyler” Roberts of Darlington, passed away Tuesday at home. He was 64.

Mr. Roberts was a crane operator for Mid-States for over 26 years, until it closed. He attended Kentucky schools. He enjoyed gardening, flowers, country music and liked to hunt and fish.

Born November 1, 1947 in Monticello, Kentucky, he was the son of Luther Roberts and Lula Decker Roberts. He married Christine Dowell on July 29, 1968 in Kentucky. She survives.

Additional survivors include four daughters, Donna (William) LeGere of Stanford, Kentucky, Rhonda (Eugene) Jackson of Crawfordsville, Darlene Scott of Indianapolis, Caroline (Victor) Wilkinson of Stanford, Kentucky, son, Carmel Roberts, Jr., brothers, William Roberts, Luther Roberts, Jr., Cas Roberts, Elisha Roberts, John Roberts, sister, Polly Cummins, nineteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Floyd and Robert Pittman and Lisco Hammond as well as grandson, Ledon Wayne Tuell.

Funeral services will be under the direction of Hickey and Son Funeral Home in Monticello. Burial will be at Grover-Roberts Cemetery. Local arrangements were made through Burkhart Funeral Home, Crawfordsville.
